When should a bride begin searching for their Wedding Gown?

Ultimately there is no time limit for brides to begin looking for their perfect gown, however most start from just a year to 8 months away from the set wedding date. Brides should always bear in mind that many wedding gowns must be ordered in and can take up to 4 months for some styles to arrive so you should always be prepared, unless you plan to buy designs 'off the rack'. Once the wedding gown is received, you may need to make some slight alterations with a tailor so extra care with time is suggested


What is the average price for a Wedding Gown?

Generally designer weddings can cost $3000 + depending on the style, size, colour and how urgent the dress is needed. Here at Fashionably Yours, designer wedding gowns start from half that price so its always best to shop around for the best deals. But remember the average cost for a well made wedding gown will be from $2000-3000.


What sort of designer brands do you stock? Are they real?

Currently we stock brands such as Angelina Faccenda, Avenue Diagonal, Dessy, La Sposa, Mori Lee, San Patrick, Voyage, Wattersand Wtoo - and plan to bring in many more alternatives. All of our designer brands are direct from the designer themselves and 100% authentic in quality.


Are all your Wedding Gowns online available to try on in-store?

Unfortunately not. We stock many samples in our store but it is always best to enquire before paying a visit. Some styles and sizes take longer to acquire but we may be able to give you an expected date of arrival. You can contact our friendly customer service team by either phone or email.


Do you have to make an appointment to visit your store?

Generally it's always best to make an appointment, as we can then focus on you and make arrangements to bring in the items you require from our warehouse. Appointments on Saturday are essential as it is our busiest day. Appointments can be made over the phone or you can send them online via our bookings form located at the top of our website.


What is the delivery time of your Designer Wedding Gowns?

Delivery time is dependent on the designer, style and size of your chosen wedding gown, however it generally takes 12-16 weeks to complete your order. In rare cases, it may take longer to deliver.

Please note: We will only store wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses for up to 6 months after notification of the arrival.  Dresses haven't been picked up after 6 months will be considered unwanted or unclaimed.  We reserve the right to send them to charity.


What sizes do you sell?

For most brands we sell stock from size 6 - 28.


Do you offer in-house alterations?

Unfortunately not. However we can recommend tailors that are quite reasonable and do a fantastic job in no time at all.


If you don't offer in-house alterations, can the designer gowns be altered before purchasing?

Some styles and designers we stock allow for different lengths to be chosen, for example 50, 55 or 61 inches in terms of the full-length of your gown. However they do not perform any other alterations on their garments. It is best to first purchase the gown for the style and have it privately tailored if you wish for further amendments to be made.


Can I choose add-ons to go with my order? What is available?

Absolutely! We also sell wedding veils, jewellery, garters, belts, handkerchiefs and much more available to add to your order. If you are placing your order online, all you need to do is add the items to your cart along with your wedding gown, otherwise for in-store purchases, please enquire on the spot!


Can you place deposits or pay via a finance plan/lay by?

Yes! You can pay via layby or place a deposit however at least 50% of your total order has to be paid before we can place the order with our suppliers. Please note that part payments and deposits are non-refundable so please choose your wedding gown style carefully!


What is your refunds & exchange policy?

Once your Bridal gown order has been placed with us we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges; this ensures we are able to order your dress from our supplier and have it arrive in store in the quickest possible time. Deciding and finally purchasing a wedding gown is a big commitment and you will need to be final on your decision.  Please note: purchases of wedding gowns off the hanger can not be returned for an exchange or refund.  All sales are final.  Please inspect carefully as soon as you receive the gown.  No claim will be accepted after 7 days from the receipt of the wedding gown.  Please be aware these are sample dresses which have been tried on.  There could be signs of wear.


My dress is faulty. What should I do?

When you receive your dress please inspect it immediately to ensure no faults have occurred. Please note that we do run a quality control before we ship out your gown, so in the rare case that you find your wedding gown to be faulty then you MUST contact us within 3 days of receiving your order so that we can start the process of returns. Once you have been in contact with us, we will advise you on the relevant steps in returning the dress and the options we can offer to fix or replace it. 

Please note:  If you buy a wedding dress off the hanger, it is possible there could be small faults such as missing beads or sequins, or the dress might need to be dry cleaned.  Please think carefully before you decide to purchase a wedding gown off the hanger as your decision is final. The wedding gown can not be returned for an exchange or refund.


Complimentary - Free Items

On some occasions, we might offer a complimentary (free) item(s), e.g. veil, or a wedding belt or a headpiece.  Please note that sometimes these items are offered as is, in their current condition.   The assumed monetary value of this item may not be applied to another item.  The price of this item is not a store credit.  It may not be used to purchase another item in the store.  As most wedding gowns take a while to deliver, some accessories may have been discontinued. We reserve the right to offer an alternative item.  If the alternative item is refused, we reserve the right not to provide a free item.
